I would not issue even one star. I contacted Fidelity Warranty to request an electrician after discovering that four areas of my home were without power. Fidelity assigned Hoffman Electric to handle the job. When the electrician from Hoffman Electric arrived, he inspected the garage, which was not part of the problem, and only checked one outlet. He claimed the electrical work had been done by a handyman and stated that the system was not up to code. He also looked at the breaker box and repeated that it was not up to code. However, despite these observations, no repairs were made, and the initial electrical issue remained unresolved.

Afterward, I was informed by Fidelity Warranty’s automated system that my claim had been approved. However, when I spoke to a representative, I was told that the electrician had submitted a report stating that my electrical system was installed illegally and was not up to code.

I paid $85 for a service call, yet no work was performed. Fidelity Warranty’s refusal to send another technician, despite knowing about the numerous complaints against Hoffman Electric, is unacceptable. I have been without electricity in four areas of my home for two weeks, and the only solution offered by the technician was to use an extension cord, which is not a viable or safe option.

A second electrician, whom I hired independently, disputed Hoffman Electric’s findings. He identified the problem as being with the outside wiring, not the interior wiring as Hoffman had claimed. STAY AWAY

One star is too much for this incompetent person! Old Republic sent this rude idiot out for my flickering lights and outlets not working. He didn't call before showing up, did not have a multimeter or a tall enough ladder for my high ceilings, which are very common in AZ. He took some pictures and told me either my led bulbs were bad or they weren't tightened enough (neither is true) and basically insulted my intelligence. He didn't check any of the outlets and just physically looked at the electrical panel. He would be out of business if it weren't for warranty companies using him. I have a professional electrician relative in CO who was appalled when I told him and luckily will check and repair these things properly when he comes to visit. Oh, and I also fired Old Republic for not listening to me and not sending a professional out.

Very rude man on the phone. Sent through Fidelity home warranty. Was sent to fix my ceiling fan. Was there for five minutes. Took pictures of the fan and left. Did not get on a ladder and actually look at it.

The worst "professional" electrician I've ever worked with! I work for a property management company that manages over 600 homes. A lot of the owners have home warranties and unfortunately they assign the work to this unprofessional guy. He never does any work and tells the home warranty companies "out of code", "not covered", its always an excuse and he never does any work. Now when they assign him I call and have it reassigned!

If I could give less than one star I would. Hoffman Electric is beyond impossible to work with, incredibly rude and incompetent. Mr. Hoffman gave me a 4 hour time frame and said he would call when he was 20 minutes out when I scheduled him to come look at an electric panel. He didn’t call until he was there and then left when I told him I was 2 minutes away.

I ran into him in his green truck as I rushed home from down the street. He was parked on my street and I waved to him, knocked on his window and tried to get him to roll down his window, but he sped off. On top of that he called my home warranty company and told them I was 20 minutes late and he refuses to come back to my address. I left my house for 5 minutes during the 4 hour window he gave me. The only time I uttered the words 20 minutes was when I asked him why he didn’t call me when he was 20 minutes out. Hoffman also tried to tell me that Wetmore and Oracle are parallel streets, which further proves his incompetence. Obviously all of his 1 star ratings are warranted and nobody should ever work with this “business” ever.

Edit: Old Republic Home Warranty sent Hoffman out again, and Mr. Hoffman sort of looked at the problem and said that there actually wasn’t anything wrong with our electrical panel and if our power is arching, that we need to take it up with TEP. He proceeded to tell Old Republic that our panel was out of code and that the entire house needs to be rewired. We had a real electrician come out and replace a few breakers which actually fixed the problem. Not only is Hoffman a completely incapable electrician, he is a liar.

I called my home warranty through an old Republic as there was no electricity in half my house as it kept tripping the breakers, throughout my trouble shooting, I couldn’t figure out the problem. He came in told me to “figure out the problem” was there a total of 20 minutes told me to replace my GFI plugs near my bathroom, kitchen sink and outside to “regular plugs” as those were not “code” and is causing my tripping breaker. I lived in my house 6 years they were there all 6 years and didn’t cause and “issue” he wanted to leave when I told him please look at my breaker box. He took one picture of my breaker box said it was “illegally wired”, and my only option were to rewire my house. He sent this picture to my home warranty so they will deny my coverage. After I called another electrician in he informed me my gfi plugs are code and it wasn’t causing my issue, my breaker box was NOT illegally wired and meets 1983 code standards which is when my house was built. Turns out it was a bad breaker as the problem. Long story short don’t hire him he doesn’t understand “code” and will cause problems with your home warranty.

Absolute clown. I would question how someone so incompetent was able to become a licensed electrician. Save yourself the time and money and just go with someone else. He will not help you and I would question the quality of work he would be able to complete. He waited a total of 1 minute for me to answer the door and decided not to call ahead of time like discussed the week before. He called the home warranty company claiming he waited 20 minutes, while we have Ring footage that says otherwise.

This man showed up after my warranty company Old republic sent him and told me my electrical boxes were over loaded and it was going to cost thousands and it wasnt taken care of from the previous owners which was not true I have documentation from the inspection from before I bought home. This man also messed with my swamp while on the roof causing problems with it and he shouldnt of touched it at all. They never answer the phone and when I had another conpany came out they said nothing as to what he said he lied he needs to go sit down somewhere because he doenst know what hes doing. Do not use this company RUN!!!!
