Lovely shaded and cool trail. A few very minimal clambers over rocks and the stepping stone stream crossings are fun. Cool canyon views without too much difficulty. My mother, who is 65 and spry (but not a hiker), did it easily.

Parking was rapidly filling by the time we got there at 815am, but when we left about noon there were new folks filtering in.

Gorgeous trail. Needed a relatively flat trail to go on due to my sisters medical state at the time of our trip and this was perfect! Parts of the trail had some shade. Beautiful views of the red rock! Had no idea about the historical component- there used to be a lodge hence the ruins of it. Very cool. We started the trail at the parking lot.The best part for us was that we were able to hammock very close to the ruins of the lodge. If you are standing in front of the the old fireplace, turn around (180) and walk straight towards the water. Had to walk through/under what looked to be a previous entry way before the water. Great spot we found to hammock!

Beautiful park, the trails are wide and well maintained. There is very limited parking so be prepared to either park on the road and walk or get there early, or late in the afternoon. We had to park on the road, and by the afternoon when we left there was parking available again. The trail wasn't as busy as we expected either. Probably due to the limited parking. We'll worth the hike though!

Get to the trailhead early to get a parking spot. $11 per vehicle. Bring good shoes, there are several places you'll be crossing the stream. An easy trail other than the water crossings.

One of the most beautiful place to hike in late October, November. The leaves color changes and it's just an amazing portrait of nature.
The park rangers are very nice.
They were accepting only cash for parking. It guest quite busy in the fall, and a lot of visitors park outside, which can be dangerous walking on the narrow side of the road.

This is always a go to trail for my family! Lovely scenery to look upon as you walk and very family friendly. Quiet and cool for the most part. Sure there's spots where you'll come across other hikers, but no biggie. So many side areas to explore or meander through. My son has been going since he was 3 and no complaints. Easy for him to navigate and all those lil water crossings can be managed with a guiding hand from Momma. Only suggestion is bring your own TP, hand sanitizer, or antibiotic wipes if use the potty lol, oh and get there early! Car line to get in can get long since limited parking. ?

The hike is beautiful easygoing. The parking attendants are ridiculous. The man seemed discussed that we had a truck and spoke to us like we were tourist (we are not.) The woman is screaming directions. I could of easily pulled up to the fence line but they had me doing so many extra moves which held up parking for other vehicles. We finally had to yell back at her and get her away from the truck to park. Ridiculous but did not let them ruin our hike.
