Avoid at All Costs

If you value your car, your sanity, or your time, stay as far away from this place as possible. They are as friendly as they are incompetent at fixing cars—and they’re very friendly. At least, that’s something.

I brought my Mercedes here after it had a run-in with a truck, expecting professionalism and expertise from a supposedly Mercedes-certified shop. I made it clear I wanted perfection: no non-OEM parts, flawless restoration. “We’ll make it better than original!” they said—my first warning sign. Claims like that aren’t just pretentious, they violate California insurance regulations, which mandate repairs restore the vehicle to its pre-loss condition.

Despite promising no parts needed replacement, their final estimate included non-OEM parts. Luckily, I caught it before installation, but dodging that bullet is not what you expect from a certified shop. Considering the cost difference was mere cents, I can almost understand their reluctance to absorb it.

The work they completed? Amateurish, at best. The clear coat dripped and sagged as if applied by a blindfolded novice, and the color match was akin to a child’s finger-painting. When I pointed out the flaws, they admitted the clear coat was “botched” and promised to redo it. As for the mismatched paint? They blamed the bumper material, though all the other plastic parts matched just fine.

Their fix? More paint and clear coat. I asked if they’d sand down to the original surface first. “Oh, absolutely,” they said. What I got instead was a bumper resembling a poorly layered wedding cake, with parking sensors buried under layers of paint. Sure, the color finally matched, but the damage was done.

They also managed to damage other parts of the car and insisted, “It’s supposed to be that way.” Really? Screws so tight that only a fraction of the bumper material remains? That’s not just sloppy; it’s dangerous. My car has adaptive cruise control, and I dread what might happen if the bumper shakes loose at highway speeds.

They lied about replacing parts—twice—dismissing it as “miscommunication.” When I suggested replacing the entire bumper, they assured me they’d contacted the insurance company. They hadn’t. I had to call myself and found they’d never even asked, despite their claims otherwise.

Still unsure? Check out their job posting for a general manager. Their focus, in their own words, is to “keep our insurance partners happy.” Customer satisfaction isn’t even mentioned.

They claim to be Mercedes-certified, but they’re not listed on Mercedes’ website anymore—and for good reason.

I’ll reluctantly give them 2 stars because they eventually got the car looking visually acceptable. Time will tell if it holds up. But after four visits, countless excuses, and enduring an exhausting runaround, I’m done. If they couldn’t fix it after all this, I doubt they ever will.

If you care about your car—or want to avoid the soul-crushing experience of watching it be methodically butchered—go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Trust me, your car deserves better. And so do you.

If you have any attention to detail and care about your vehicle do not use G and C.
I am not sure why there are so many positive reviews.
Their was good communication from the start. However the work did not match.

Someone tried to steal my Ford Ranger in Oakland and damaged the driver side door lock and the ignition.

G and C replaced the door and ignition components.

When I went to pick up the truck the driver side window was extremely difficult to roll up and down (manual window), the door panel mount was broken, the door latch was tight, there were runs in the paint, and the key did not open the passenger door lock.

G and C fixed the problems, minus the door panel mount and the window. The window is not the same as before.

I don't usually bad mouth people. But there is no quality control at G and C. There is clearly no pride in the work being completed here.

We had a dent in a passenger door, 2015 Prius. G&C was very professional in analyzing the work. They did replace the door. Due to supplier issues which honestly, they couldn't control - but could plan for - it took 2x , almost 3x as long as originally estimated. “Tomorrow, it should be ready tomorrow” was the refrain. That's the only reason for the 4 star rating. The work itself, no complaints . People at the front desk also very good. This seems a reputable shop. Its just the communication from the project manager wasn’t the best at times. If not for that, 5 stars. Would I go back? Yes, they did good work. I'd just be prepared for work to take significantly longer than estimated.

Leaving a terrible review on this place because Christian spoke to my mom in such a Disrespectful manner after she just wanted an estimate to get her car fixed. I witnessed Christian raise his voice and say things like “Is this your actual insurance company? If not, this is considered Fraud” after my mom gave him our exact insurance company. Accusing my mom of things that are not true. He was honestly just talking out of his ass and mentioned that all he can do is an estimate and nothing else for us as my mom already understood that he kept repeating himself after the concept was already over. He does not know how to communicate with people and treat them with respect. I can tell he does not do good in settings under pressure But this does not give him a reason to treat others terribly… Christian do better.

I can only speak to the professional communication from the estimator, Mike. He told me the likelihood that my car would be a complete loss and warned me of what to expect with insurance coverage, and the rental car ending. My insurer had not bothered to tell me most of this without me asking, and it will save me a lot of time and money now that I'm prepared. I really appreciate the communication.
