Over the years Clover Flatt has gotten worse with customer service and costs.

Forget to put your trash out? $96 pick up fee. Been using the service all my life and they don't care. But that's business right, a monopoly and that's why they keep increasing costs.

Minimum to take the trash to the dump myself is again $100.

So sorry I'm human and thought LABOR DAY meant trash goes out a day later.

"If we did a courtesy pick up then we'd have to do it for everyone else who thought it went out a day later due to labor day."

So yeah I'm complaining, bill me. Oh wait, you are!

Disappointing Changes Under New Ownership

I've been a long-time patron of Clover Flat Landfill in Calistoga, relying on it for both personal and business-related waste management. However, recent changes under the new national corporate ownership have significantly marred the experience, making it an unfavorable option for the local community.

Firstly, the introduction of exorbitantly high fees stands out starkly against other local landfills. It's disheartening to see such a crucial local service becoming financially inaccessible to many residents and businesses in the area. This shift seems to reflect a disconnect from the local community's needs and financial realities, favoring corporate profits over service accessibility.

Moreover, the decision to close on Sundays has added to the inconvenience, especially for those of us who work during the week. This limitation restricts the opportunity to manage home project debris, forcing us to seek alternatives that are significantly farther away. It's an unnecessary burden that complicates what should be a straightforward task.

Adding to the frustration are the new policies that seem to prioritize operational convenience over customer service. The attitude of new staff members towards customers has generally been negative and unfriendly, a departure from the welcoming and helpful service we used to enjoy. It feels as though the values that once made Clover Flat Landfill a community asset have been overshadowed by a cold, corporate approach.

It's truly unfortunate to witness these changes driving loyal patrons to look for other landfills outside our local area. The sense of community and mutual support that once defined our interactions with Clover Flat Landfill seems to be fading away, leaving behind a service that feels alienated from the very people it's meant to serve.

I hope for a reconsideration of these policies and a renewed focus on serving the local community with respect, fairness, and a friendly attitude. Until then, I find myself compelled to seek waste management services elsewhere, despite the inconvenience.

The new owners are extracting the last dollar they can from the dump. $127 minimum fee to take trash to the dump will mean that people will be throwing their waste along roadsides in the upper Napa Valley. Shame on the County of Napa for approving this rate increase.

outrageously expensive!! New rate is $123 for just household goods!! It was half that two months prior. I also had 4 old tires and they wanted $28 each!! Another almost $100! No wonder people illegally dump there trash!!

This facility has just recently hired some new fraudsters! Every time you arrive with a secured load they charge you for not tarping your load. CVC says that any UNSECURED load MUST have a tarp (items that can blow out the back of your vehicle) all my loads have been secured that I’ve brought there & they still fraud me… I have a couple friends there who tell me about all the angry customers who have been frauded by this team of new recruits. It hurts me to know that my friend Sheila supports these criminal acts & values fraud over friendship. 😢 I cannot wait to see this facility clean up their act & QUIT SCAMMING NAPA’S CUSTOMERS!!!!

We came here with one cactus ad it was a pain to load and a pain to haul. When we arrived the lady at the front told us there was no one able to assist us unloading with a tractor, which would be an additional fee of 51$ for one push. We now are left dragging this cactus home and HOPING to be able to dump it another day.

Waste of our time. You could or helped us out. Monopoly BS
